remember how i said cafe george had the best fries? ok, well, i lied. grammie and i found a little family fry shop that serves fresh, homemade, cheese fries. those are definitely the best fries i’ve ever had. cafe george is a close second though. on the topic of good food, there are little bakeries everywhere. as mom and i were falling asleep last night i said something along the lines of, if i lived here, i would weigh so much. she responded, that was exactly what i was thinking… thanks? well, she was actually talking about herself, but i think the three of us could agree we would eat way too much if we lived over here. not only are there good bakeries but all the food is amazing. we went to a restaurant called “the dutchess” that our canal captain recommended and they had wonderful food but really good dessert too. everything seems so fancy here even if it is just macaroons and a piece of chocolate. if you’re not careful, a bird definitely will steal your food though, or, in the squares, lots of people stand out there will food and pigeons land all over them and eat what they’re handing out.
10/10 recommend

there are so many cute little cafes
let me introduce to you some people on this tour we just took…. the two naughty kids, snapchat guy and laptop picture lady. tourists are annoying and, yes, i am a tourist at the moment, but these people really were bothering everyone. the naughty kids put everything in their mouths, kicked everyone and screamed during the whole bus ride. snapchat guy was constantly recording everything and putting it all on his story (rip to anyone following him), and the laptop lady needed a picture of everything with her huge laptop she brought. she even tried to take a video by putting her laptop directly in front of a family and holding it in front of their face for almost the whole demonstration. definitely not the kind of people i would want to tour with again, but the tour we went on was very fun. we toured a cheese factory (and ate lots of really good cheese), a waffle shop (where we got really good waffles), a peanut windmill (that was also a farm and had cute sheep and ducks all over), a clog factory (where we saw clogs being made) and some countrysides and small towns and shops and stuff. we ate good food, had a great tour guide and had a lot of fun. we bought some really good cheese even though mom wouldn’t let me open it back at the hotel so, basically me picking out cheese was pointless because i didn’t even eat any, it just got brought back home. we also bought some, dutch chocolate from the chocolate windmill and i really wanted to buy a pair of clogs at the shop to be honest. for most of the tour the weather was really good, it was pretty cold and windy but it didn’t really rain a whole lot until the end of the last stop it started downpouring, so, perfect timing i guess haha!
we’re heading to norway tomorrow and i’m a little sad it’s our last day here because, i’ve just started to get used to everything a little bit and there is even more i want to see, but i am really excited that we are getting closer and closer to boarding the ship!
more windmills!
